Former 'X Factor' stars John and Edward Grimes have been speaking about their hopes for the future, saying that they want to write their own songs.More videos

Speaking to Digital Spy, the twins said that they were also keen to "do more TV shows".

John said: "I think the main focus right now for us is being singers. We want to be pop singers and follow our dream."

"The thing about me and Ed is that we play guitar, we play piano and violin. It all comes down to writing your own music and being an individual."

"We write songs that aren't boring about missing girls and boring stuff like that. It's about being different and finding your own originality."

Edward said: "We'd love to do more TV and do more TV shows, but we want to focus on music and doing good songs."

When asked about their female admirers, John said: "I think that at the end of the day, our main focus is this. If you have a girlfriend - well you don't want to be missing anybody."
